How to choose the right course

We want to do our best to help you choose the right course for you.

Start off by identifying your current level e.g. first-line, middle or senior leader or aspiring to be one of these?
Select Level 3 for First Line, Level 5 for Middle Managers or Level 7 for Senior Leader/Director. If you are thinking of promotion to the next level then choose a higher level than your current job.
Decide how much time you have to spend on your studies
Units are between 25 and 40 hours each. Choose the Award if you want to study one Unit, select the Certificate for 3 or 4 Units and the Diploma for at least 6 Units. At Level 7 you can also undertake the Extended Diploma for 9 Units.
Check how much you have to spend
The Award will be about £549 the Certificate about £899 and the Diploma at least £1199. The Level 7 Extended Diploma is £1999. Everything is included in those fees.
Is it difficult to afford right now?
You can pay in full for all courses though if that’s not possible there are payment plans on most courses.

student membership of the CMI

access to our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for help and support and to contact your tutors
a personal tutor to support you throughout your studies.
a final certificate sent to your home address

What happens when I pay for my course?

Head off to the Store, select and pay for the course you want. You will receive confirmation from us and we then want to get you started so look our for a reply from us by email giving you details of how you can register on the Developing Managers website. This will also give you early access to the Virtual Learning Environment for your course.

Then watch out for a further email from us in the next 24-48 hours.

Can I go on and take another course?

Once you complete your course you can enrol on a longer course using your existing credits or you can go for a higher level course e.g. Level 5 to Level 7. Or become a Chartered Manager. Talk to us about what we can do for you and what else you might be able to do.
